Hello Hello, I'm Taco and I'm usually the sneaky asura that causes chaos and mayhem by pulling people off cliffs. Today I will teach you how to get the Choya tonics!

Become Choya
First of all, what is a Choya? Choyas are among the most beloved (and chaotic) creatures in Guild Wars 2. They are sentient plant creatures native to the Crystal Desert, Elona and Castora, and are typically aggressive to others.

So you want to be a Choya?
There are currently 5 types of Choya tonics obtainable in Guild Wars 2 (assuming you have Path of Fire and the latest expansion of Visions of Eternity):
- Endless Choya Piñata Tonic
- Spiked Choya Psionic Tonic (Combat Tonic)
- Endless Choya Dance Tonic
- Endless Mystery Choya Tonic
- Endless Castoran Choya Tonic (Pineapple Choya)
Endless Choya Piñata Tonic
- Vendor: Casino Blitz Reward Cashier
- Cost: 1,000 Casino Coins
- Skills: Costume Brawl skills (Attack, Roll Out, Enter Costume Brawl, Time Out, Return)

⚠️ THIS TONIC CANNOT BE USED IN WVW
There are 3 ways to get this tonic:
- A rare drop from the Choya Piñata boss at the end of the “Casino Blitz” event in Amnoon (in-game shortcut: [&BLsKAAA=])
- Search for “Unopened Endless Choya Piñata Tonic” and buy it directly in the Trading Post which costs about 333 gold (at the time of this write up)
- Purchase from the Amnoon Casino Blitz Reward Cashier (in-game shortcut: [&BLsKAAA=]) for 1000 Casino Coins
Spiked Choya Psionic Tonic (Combat Tonic)
- Vendors: April Fools’ Vendor, and Professor Smoll
- Cost: 1 Fool’s Dog Treat
- Skills: Combat transformation. You can still fight and use all your skills while transformed.
The Spiked Choya Psionic Tonic was added as an April Fool’s joke and surprisingly not hard to get. You only need the Fool’s Dog Treat and Spiked Choya Psionic Tonic.
How do I get the Fool’s Dog Treat and the Spiked Choya Psionic Tonic? Good question! First, visit the April Fools’ Vendor in Hooligan’s Route in Lion Arch (in-game shortcut: [&BCgEAAA=]). You will need 100 Pile of Bloodstone Dusts for 1 Fool’s Dog Treat, plus another dog treat to get the tonic if you don’t have it yet (once you get the tonic you don’t need to buy it again).
In order to activate the Choya combat tonic, you need to first consume the Dog Treat, and then activate the Spiked Choya Psionic Tonic.
ℹ️ What is a Combat Tonic?
Most tonics replace the player’s combat skills in addition to changing their appearance. Combat tonics, however, change the player’s appearance but still allow access to their combat skills.
This item CAN be used in WvW. However, in exchange for staying in this tonic, there are paw prints all around your screen, which can be distracting. Additionally, the stats you get from consuming the dog treat aren’t great for WvW.
Utility stats for the Spiked Choya Psionic Tonic (Combat Tonic)
- Fool’s Enhancement 30mins
- +5% magic find
- +5% karma
- +5% gold from monsters
- +5% experience from kills
✅ You can consume another utility to get rid of the paw prints on screen while maintaining the Choya transformation for 30mins! ~ Thanks to Ele for this tip!
Endless Choya Dance Tonic
- Vendor: Milin
- Cost: 50 Inscribed Shards and 175k Karma
- Skills: Five dance skills (Sway, Clap, Chest Thump, Spin, Stomp, Return)

Respect the Choyas or Get the Spikes!
To get this tonic, you need the Path of Fire expansion and the story episode 5: Long Live the Lich.
✅ If you have the expansion and the story episode but haven’t been there before, you can ask someone to let you use a Teleport to Friend to take you to the vendor’s location.
First, find the Renown Heart NPC Milin in Domain of Kourna, Apizmic Grounds Waypoint (in-game shortcut: [&BFALAAA=]) and help the critically endangered Heket tribe in order to “complete the heart” and unlock the vendor’s inventory.
Helping the Heket tribe and completing the heart is pretty straightforward. You can do any of the contributing events or complete these actions:
- Fix broken Heket Territory Markers
- Free Heket captured at Pogahn Bluffs Proving Ground
- Kill Awakened, Basilisks and Choya
- Revive Heket Warriors
- Bring Firefly Bits to Heket Hunters
After you complete the heart, you have the option to purchase the Endless Choya Dance Tonic for 50 Inscribed Shards and 175k Karma.
ℹ️ How do I get Inscribed Shards if I don’t do PvE?
Completing the Domain of Kourna WvW Reward Track rewards you with a chest that gives 50 Inscribed Shards.
TLDR: Do events > complete heart > PROFIT?
✅ If the Choya event Retake Apizmic Grounds from Invasive Choya starts while you’re completing the heart, participating in the event will greatly accelerate your heart completion.
